The Nine-step Tea Ceremony in KunMing

KunMing is the capital of YunNan Province. The local people like to use nine-step tea ceremony to feast their guests. The tea is usually compressed tea, such as Pu-Er tea.

Obviously, there are nine procedures of the tea ceremony:
1. put the tea leaves in a dish, observe the tea to study its history and characters.
2. show the containers, usually it is a set of ZiSha (purple sand) tea equipment.
3. put the tea in the pot.
4. put hot water in the pot.
5. put the lid on the pot, shake the pot slightly.
6. open the lid, add some more hot water.
7. pour the tea in small cups.
8. distribute the tea to the guests.
9. enjoy.
