yaozu.jpg (4406 bytes)The Dong and Yao are two ethnic groups live in Yunnan, Guizhou, Hunan and Guangxi Provinces. They have the tradition of hospitality. Dong and Yao people like to use Da You Cha (oil tea) to feast their guests.

Da You Cha is very similar to the BaBao You Tea of Miao people. The drinker use either newly picked tea or dried tea powder to make DaYou Tea. First people put peanut, corn, soybean, sesame and bamboo's root inside a bowl, then add oil into a pot, put the tea inside the oil to stir-fry. After a few minutes put in water, salt and sesame, wait until it is boiling, then pour the tea soup inside the bowl. It is not only a daily drink but also an important kind of food for the local residents.
