XinYang MaoJian

The DaBie Mountain in HeNan Province is an important geographical ridge in North China. XinYang City is located at the foot of the DaBie Mountain. XinYang MaoJian is a special local productin XinYang.People start to pick the tea leaves in mid April until July. The tea buds is thin and straight like a nail covered by thin hair, that's why it is called "MaoJian" (hairy needle). MaoJian has a very special chestnut flavour which can last a long time. The famous Tea Saint LuYu (733-804) described XinYang MaoJian (called GuangZhou Tea at that time) as the top class of the tea.
