Colored Pottery Goblet
DaWenKou Archeological Site

This is an elegant pottery goblet produced in the DaWenKou Culture. The DaWenKou culture started about 6000 years ago and lasted for 2000 years. It was famous for its high pottery technology. The color included red, gray, black and white. People usually painted pattern on the potteries as a decoration. The goblet was the most characteristic container of DaWenKou culture.

This goblet is not used as drinking equipment, it was a container for meat instead. The foot of the goblet evolved to be the under tray in the later time.
