The Jizhou Kiln was one of the biggest folk Kilns in ancient China. It existed from late Tang Dynasty to the end of the Yuan Dynasty.

The Jizhou Kiln had a variety of products, including green glaze, white glaze, patterned porcelain, black glaze and colorful paintings. There were many decorative methods such as mould, printing, painting, patching and carving. The best porcelain was its black porcelains.

This bowl was the special leaf pattern. The craftsman put a layer of black glaze on the roughcast, then used a piece of special treated leaf, stick it on the roughcast; the leaf was also coated with a thin layer of glaze. After it was heated there was leaf pattern on the bowl.
