Height: 14.6 cm

The tray for tea cup was invented in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), by the daughter of the minister of Sichuan Area. She found the tea cup was too hold for her hand then used wax to hold the bottom of the cup. Later people used clay to hold the cup. In the Song Dynasty, there were many styles of the tea cup tray, such as the tea cup with tray shown here, it was also coated in a layer of glaze.
