Legend of the Mist
Tea on Heng Shan Mountain
The Mist Teas is produced on the Heng Shan Mountain in Hu Nan
Province. The Mist Tea has its specific flavor which is strongly
attractive
to many people. As early as in the Tang Dynasty
(618 - 907 A.D.), the Mist
Teas had become the
a regular tribute to the royal
family.
At that time, during Tian Bao Period (742 - 756 A.D.), Monk
Ching Yan
was the
master of the NanYue Temple on the Heng Shan
Mountain. It is said that one day, Master Ching Yan saw a big
white snake buried tea seeds in the earth beside the temple,
since then people started to plant tea trees there. One day,
there was a spring spray out of the rock cave. Master Ching Yan
call it the Pearl Spring and used the water to cook his tea. He
found the tea and the water matched perfectly. Some people
believe that another dignitary borrowed some water from Heng
Shan Mountain and took it to Hang Zhou City, then it became the
most famous spring in China: the Hu Pao Spring (Running Tiger
Spring).
Actually there are many springs on Heng Shan
Mountain such as: Bi Lu spring, the Sun Spring, Hsu Pao Spring.
There are all wonderful accessories of Hen Shan Mist Tea.
