The Dragon Dance Tea

Longwu Tea (the Dragon Dance Tea) is planted in JiangXi Province. The tea garden is located on the rugged hillside. There is a well in the middle of the tea garden. The depth of the well is about seven meters. No matter it is dry or rainy, the water surface is always around one meter level below the ground. The farmers use the clear water to irrigate the tea garden and get tight spiral tea buds. That is the dragon dance tea.

It is said that long time ago, there was a terrible drought in this area. The rivers were dry up and plants were all dead. All the peasants gathered on the peak of the hill and prayed to the Bodhisattva GuanYin. The Bodhisattva  was touched. Suddenly it became windy and dark clouds covered the sky. Accompanied by a thunder, a well was cut open on the hill side. The local people called this well the Well of the Thunder God. Later, a green colored dragon dance in the sky right above the Well of Thunder God, immediately many tea trees grew up on the hill, people called them the dragon dance tea trees.
