Zhou Fang
was a
painter in the Tang Dynasty. Zhou was born in a noble family, when he
grew up he acted as the master of YueZhou and XuanZhou city. He was
good at painting maids lived in the court. His painting was famous
in the Tang Court.
In this
picture, three noble ladies were sitting in the yard, playing music
instruments, drinking tea and enjoying the music. Another two
servants were offering their service to the nobles. From the trees
in the yard we know it was autumn, the noble ladies could feel that
their youth and beauty were fading in their lonely lives.
