You
Yan Tea
The LiSu people live by the NuJiang river in Yunnan and Sichuan
Province. They keep a tradition to drink YouYan Tea (lit. Oil
and Salt Tea).
When making YouYan tea, the LiSu people put a small pot on the
fire first; next they put some fresh tealeaves inside until it
turns yellowish. Then add some oil, salt and water, wait for 3
minutes after boil, and start to enjoy the drink.
The LiSu people use the tea time as a daily communication and a
important method to feast their guests as well.
