LuYu Quan is located in the GuangJiao Temple in ShangRao City, JiangXi Province. Now the temple is the ShangRao No. 1 Middle School. In the ZhenYuan Era (785-786 AD) of Tang Dynasty, the Tea Saint LuYu lived in the GuangJiao Temple. He built up a tea garden by the spring. It was said that later on he called the spring the “No. 4 Spring”. Since then the spring has been named as the LuYu Spring.

The LuYu spring was well kept until 1960’s. The underground water was cut by a local construction project. Now there is no water inside the spring anymore.
