The WuGuan Gate is a military fortress in ShanXi Province. This fortress guards the gate from HeNan Province into ShanXi. The Luo river flows by the west side of WuGuan and merges into the DanJiang River. When it passes by the WuGuan Gate it is called the XiLuo river (West Luo River). In the Tang Dynasty the Tea Saint LuYu came here to inspect the quality of water and called the XiLuo River the No. 15 Best water in China.
