LongJing is a small village in the city of HangZhou. It is the producing place of the LongJing tea. LongJing is named after the famous LongJing Spring in the same area. The meaning of LongJing in English is “the Well of Dragon”. It is a spring exposed on the rocks in the ground. It is said that there is a dragon living in the water. That is why it is called the well of dragon. It is even full of water in the drought years. Many 011.jpg (6991 bytes)people call it the third best spring. There is also a LongJing Temple built by its side.

However, the LongJing village is more well known for its LongJing Tea production. The LongJing Spring is not as famous as another so-called “the third best spring” HuPao Spring just a few miles from LongJing. The HuPao water is also considered as the perfect match to the LongJing tea instead of the LongJing water.
