There was an
old saying in ancient China: if anybody drink the water of the
Greedy Spring, they will become greedy as well and lose the virtue
of honesty in the future.
The real
Greedy Spring is located in the GuangDong Province, 15 km from its
capital GuangZhou. There were many officials passed by the spring
and enjoyed the water here. Later on they all got corrupted and
became greedy. Therefore people called this spring the Greedy
Spring.
There were
many scholars and poets who wrote down poems and articles about the
spring. They are all engraved on the stones around the spring. Today
they are warning the people to be honest and clean.
