Shao Cha (toasted tea) of Wa People

The Wa People live in YunNan Province with many other ethnic groups. They are famous for their braveness and fighting spirit. Every individual Wa people can be a good warrior. The Wa people keep many old traditions in their lives, including the toasted tea ceremony.

The toasted tea is very similar to the baked tea of LaHu people. The drinker simply barbeque the tea leaves on an iron board, at the same time prepare hot water. Then put the water and tea together and stew for several minutes, and the tea is ready to serve.
